Mental Health Technician/Recovery Coach
The Kahm Center for Eating Disorders is a small family owned (a mother and son) Vermont practice that treats eating disorders at the IOP and PHP setting. We’re looking for someone that’s passionate about treating eating disorders. We’re a great collaborative team working together in a beautifully renovated mill building. Qualifications:
1. Education and professional:
· College degree in psychology or related field preferred. Experience in the field of mental health preferred.
· Theoretic as well as practical knowledge of the clinical area.
· Represents the organization positively.
2. Knowledge and abilities:
· Is viewed as a role model by other peers.
· Demonstrates strong leadership qualities.
· Demonstrates intuitive and sound judgment.
· Demonstrates and consistently strives to maintain excellence in all mental health counselor job responsibilities.
Essential Functions:
· Facilitates small therapeutic groups (up to 10 patients).
· Supervise and meal coach with patients daily
· Perform metabolic/body composition analysis on patients
· Assist therapists with patients in crisis
- Key player in integrating and supporting the clients through their recovery journey.
- Provide support and intervention consistent with the client’s treatment plan.
- Engage clients in developing healthy and appropriate connections with other clients in the milieu and the team.
- Assist in food prep and set-up; model and supervise client meals and snacks.
· Oversees the milieu and assists in ensuring that the therapeutic group schedule is adhered to.
· Maintains a positive, supportive demeanor and are respectful, courteous and compassionate to all patients and co-workers.
· Serves as an active member of the multidisciplinary treatment team; e.g., attends treatment team rounds when schedule allows, contributes to and signs patient treatment plans.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
