Sr. Manager, Actuary Vendor Management
Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Remote Sr Actuarial Manager, Vendor Contracts will lead a team of analyst(s) providing actuarial support for agilon’s sub-cap arrangements. This Sr Manager will help to design and price new vendor relationships and provide new/renewal contracting support. The Sr Actuarial Manager will evaluate vendor impact to financials for booking and reconcile savings results with vendor.
Essential Job Functions:

Lead and support a team of analyst(s) working to evaluate vendor relationships/contracts

Understand various sub-cap arrangements with vendors providing care for chronic diseases, orthopedics, palliative/hospice needs, etc.

Collaborate with clinical analytics to propose arrangements that are financially viable and easy to measure

Communicate proposals so that internal/external stakeholders outside of the actuarial field can understand

Help agilon legal to draft actuarial contract language

Prepare analyses to support contract renewal discussions

Evaluate impact of sub-cap arrangements on agilon’s financials for month end close

Review internal/external audit documentation for close

Reconcile savings results with vendor and calculate final cash exchange

Support build-out of improved actuarial team processes

Required Qualifications:
Minimum Experience
-
7+ years of actuarial experience
-
Demonstrated leadership capability, has previously led others
Education/Licensure
-
ASA or FSA designation
-
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Economics or related field
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Excellent communication, both written and verbal
-
Strong experience with Medicare Advantage
-
Understanding of MA health plan data (Claims, MMR, MAO-04, etc.)

Deep understanding of value-based arrangements
-
Experience in measuring vendor program savings and reconciling contracts
-
Proficiency with Excel and SQL
-
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment where internal/external client satisfaction is key

Experience presenting actuarial/financial concepts to a non-technical audience

Proven problem solving skills (identification of issue, causes, solution, implementation plan)

Proven ability to influence, grow, and motivate others

Pay Range:
$153,000.00 - $191,300.00
Salary range shown is a guideline. Individual compensation packages can vary based on factors unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience, and qualifications.
