James Duncan FF&E Designer Job Overview
Job Overview: The FF&E Designer is responsible for assisting the Design Director, Purchasing Coordinator, and Project Managers in the FF&E selection, presentation, and procurement processes. This role involves working closely with project teams on a variety of design assignments, ensuring accurate specification and placement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Principal and Design Director in FF&E Specification:
- Collaborate with the Design Director via Asana for all FF&E selections.
- Utilize CAD to verify furniture sizes and compatibility with the plans.
- Request pricing and lead times for FF&E selections.
- Assist Project Managers and Principal in Furniture Pricing Presentations:
- Compile and prepare furniture pricing presentations utilizing InDesign and studio standards.
- Develop furniture palette and vignettes utilizing Photoshop and studio standards.
- Enter approved items into Studio Designer based on client feedback from presentations.
- Create clear specifications per item with all necessary information for accurate order placement.
- Initiate and maintain contact with key project individuals for clarification and coordination.
- Ensure the project samples are up to date, labeled and organized.
- General Support and Organization:
- Provide weekly status reports to the Project Manager.
- Fulfill daily activities as per internal weekly meetings and client approvals.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, clients, and vendors.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field
- 1-3 years of interior design experience preferred with experience in High Residential Design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (drafting), Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop.
- Experience with Google Suites, Microsoft Excel and Word, Asana, and Studio Designer or similar software.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing data entry, supplier databases, and sample libraries.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and maintain clear communication.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Must be based in Miami.
