Clearway School (a small, private special education school for learning-disabled middle and high school students) has an opening for a full-time school clinician starting August 26, 2024. - Plan, organize and instruct psycho-educational groups for middle school and high school age students with an array of learning disabilities and social/emotional challenges and which addresses students' IEP goals and meets the individual needs of students.
- Research additional curriculum that may be utilized within psycho-educational groups.
- Develop appropriate IEP goals that reflect an understanding of the student's current performance and needs in social/emotional and behavioral areas.
- Meet with students 1:1 as needed to address school functioning and when students are experiencing a crisis with the goal of supporting them in returning to their regularly scheduled day, implementing strategies they have learned from outside clinicians, and connecting them with the therapeutic resources they need outside of school.
- Document student progress on a daily, quarterly and yearly basis, including keeping clinician notes to document 1:1 student meetings as well as collateral contacts. Complete any additional forms required by the program.
- Consult with case managers and other staff to ensure that social-emotional IEP goals are addressed and determine appropriate and strategies to be employed with students.
- Support staff in implementing Collaborative Problem Solving and actively engage in Collaborative Problem Solving meetings with students.
- Establish contact and build relationships with families and network with community providers to support efforts in working with students with disabilities.
- Participate fully in weekly staff meetings, supervision meetings, case consultations and scheduled trainings. Attend IEP meetings, family meetings or case conferences as needed.
- Provide In-service training to Clearway Staff on clinical issues.
- Maintain an active resource file for families.
