Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical care to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate and high-quality nursing care to patients in various settings, including nursing homes, teaching hospitals, and community care facilities. As a Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical department, you will play a crucial role in managing patient care, administering treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties:
- Manage and coordinate patient care for individuals with developmental disabilities, pediatric patients, and those requiring pain management.
- Perform triage assessments, administer medications, and provide wound care as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct gastric lavage procedures when necessary and assist in emergency situations.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance and disease prevention strategies.
- Monitor patient progress, update medical records accurately, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field; current RN license.
- Previous experience working in medical/surgical settings such as teaching hospitals or occupational health facilities.
- Proficiency in pediatric care, pain management techniques, and triage assessments.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in home community care or palliative care settings.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems for documentation purposes.
- Knowledge of best practices in medical-surgical nursing and evidence-based interventions.
- Certification in areas such as Pediatrics or Pain Management would be advantageous.
