Sacramento Ultrasound Institute (SUI) is seeking a Career Services Advisor to assist the Career Services Director in building the Career Services Department from the ground up. The Career Services Advisor will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to connect students and alumni with employment opportunities that align with their career goals, perform career and job placement services, community outreach, and work with the administrators and faculty members. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in career counseling, job placement, and employer engagement.
The current immediate need for this position:

This is a part-time job requiring 5-8 hours of commitment weekly. We are looking for a candidate who would collaborate with faculty and other departments to create a career services curriculum. The curriculum will be taught twice a year, six weeks longs and thirty hours.
- The upcoming course is scheduled September 2024.
- Develop and implement career services programs and resources for students and alumni, including resume reviews, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
- Provide one-on-one career counseling to students and alumni to help them clarify their career goals and develop job search strategies.
- Develop and maintain a database of job opportunities and job postings.
The Role
- Contributes to the design and development of the company strategy for Career Services.
- Build relationships with employers and industry partners to identify job opportunities, internships, and other career-related experiences.
- Develop and implement career services programs and resources for students and alumni, including resume reviews, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
- Provide one-on-one career counseling to students and alumni to help them clarify their career goals and develop job search strategies.
- Develop and maintain a database of job opportunities and job postings.
- Collaborate with faculty and other departments to integrate career services into the curriculum.
- Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of career services programs and services.
- Develop and maintain online resources to support students and alumni in their job search.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current in career services trends and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree Preferred
- Minimum 3 years of career services and related management experience, preferably in a multi-unit setting.
- Excellent relationship-building abilities within and outside the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
- Effective problem-resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively building and maintaining a team.
- Good general business knowledge and ability to effectively supervise and lead a team of professionals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel and Outlook utilization to manage team priorities
- Successful track record of career services activities and management in educational or staffing/recruiting environments.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and current auto insurance and be able to drive in the United States.
