Basic Function: To participate in all engineering activities including design, project management, tooling, and productivity.
Duties/Tasks
- Participate in part design, estimating, tool design, lay-up and additional processes
- Design parts, tools, lay-ups and additional processes
- Contribute to Material Review Board
- Follow document control procedures as per company directive
- Collaborate with R&D and Quality departments on projects
- Interact with customers as required
- Report as required
- Attend meetings as required
- Ensure that logs of projects and quotations are maintained
Working Conditions
The regular work environment includes a typical office with quiet to moderate noise levels not exceeding 85dBa.
Standards of Performance:
Document Control is maintained and operated at an acceptable level.
Schedules and productivity reports are maintained and presented as required
Company policies and procedures are followed
Work areas are clean and organized
Maintains a cooperative working relationship with all employees
Ensures that all safety protocols are obeyed.
Requirements:
Education Required: Bachelors of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree/ experience
Experience Required: 5 + years experience in mechanical engineering or relevant field.
Skills Preferred: A strong knowledge of Solidworks software; a working knowledge of aerospace standards and specifications regarding the design of new parts; math skills as necessary to design parts and tooling; strong communication skills, both verbal and written; strong organizational skills. Reading and understanding of blueprints and models.
Physical Requirements: Able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Full use of hands, fingers and eyes and ears.
Mental Requirements: Ability to use strategic thought processes: ability to extrapolate from written requirements to a drawing.
