X-Ray Technologist/ Radiology Technician
**Job pay based on experience
The radiology technologist performs radiologic exams following established procedures for patient care and safety. He or she performs all the duties related to proper film identification, storage, and reporting functions. When not actively taking x-rays, the ideal candidate may be asked to perform basic clinical, administrative and housekeeping duties.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform diagnostic imaging examinations such as X-rays.
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures by explaining the process and positioning them appropriately to achieve the best diagnostic outcome.
- Adhere to safety protocols to protect patients, yourself, and colleagues from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Adjust and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring it operates properly and applying troubleshooting techniques when necessary.
- Work closely with providers to determine the suitability of imaging for diagnostic purposes and to interpret images.
- Maintain accurate patient records and radiographic logs, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide holistic patient care.
- Engage in continuous education to stay current with advances in radiologic technology and techniques.
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certified and registered as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Maryland State licensure required.
- Experience in a clinical setting performing a range of diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Proficiency with various types of imaging equipment.
- Strong understanding of radiology protocols and safety measures.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
