Primary purpose:
- Create a flexible 3K program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth
- Establish effective rapport with students
- Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for upper grade education in accordance with each student’s ability
- Establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and
2. Currently on a study plan approved by an accredited college or university and
OR
1. Bachelor's degree or higher
2. Valid NYS teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education: Birth – Grade 2;
Nursery-6; or Pre-K - 6
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
* Teaches reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health,
physical education, and music to students in a classroom, utilizing course of
study adopted by the Department of Education, and other appropriate learning
activities.
* Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized
and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each
student.
* Uses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion,
lecture, discovery, etc.
* Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the
available time for instruction.
* Evaluates students’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records.
* Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive
displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $56,000.00 - $68,652.00 per year
