Instructional Coach
Salary Schedule: Schedule K Work Calendar: 186 days Daily Work Hours: 7 hours
Status: Full-Time, Bargaining,
Certified, STRS
FLSA Status: Exempt Supervisor: Shared (Curriculum
Director and Building Principal)
Job Objective:
Serve as a liaison with curriculum department and building principals to provide support to and work with
educators to implement district curriculum, teaching strategies, and integration of technology through
coaching, modeling, and collaborating.
Minimum Qualifications:
? Masters’ degree in the appropriate field from an accredited institution (preferred).
? Valid Ohio Teaching License in a grade level appropriate for the position. Preference will be given to
candidates with reading, math, and/or ELA licensure.
? Required to participate in appropriate training and/or coursework as determined by the superintendent
or the curriculum director.
? Experience serving in leadership roles and leading professional development.
? Minimum 8 years of successful teaching experience.
? Demonstration of effective classroom teaching and instructional practices.
? Documented evidence of a clear criminal record.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:
? Monitor the use of curriculum standards, pacing guides, and requirements of the state and school
district.
? Create and present professional development concepts for adult learners with different levels of
knowledge of the concepts.
? Serve as a member of the Building Leadership Team (BLT).
? Support the building principal and teachers with Teacher Based Teams (TBT) and BLT initiatives.
? Co-teach and model classroom instruction when needed.
? Work with the curriculum team to revise pacing guides and courses of study, to review curriculum
standards, and to implement guidelines or district requirements.
? Support teacher planning of intervention strategies for ELL and/or students with disabilities.
? Prepare reports as required by the principal and/or director of curriculum.
? Serve as mentor for Resident Educators as determined by the building principal.
? Implement the district’s coaching model.
? Demonstrates professionalism and maintains a positive work attitude.
? Articulate a clear vision and provide leadership to advance the change process.
? Deliver a positive work environment and engages staff enthusiasm.
? Skillfully manage individual, group, and organizational interactions.
? Communicate effectively using verbal, nonverbal, and writing skills.

? Organize tasks and manage time effectively.
? Interpret information accurately and initiate effective responses.
? Enter data and complete detailed paperwork accurately.
? Avert problem situations and intervenes to resolve conflicts.
? Maintain an acceptable attendance record and is punctual.
? Travel to meetings and work assignments.
? Perform other specific job-related duties as directed.
Other Information:
? This position is Title I funded and subject to restrictions therein as well as availability of funds.
? This position will be evaluated by the building principal with input from the curriculum director.
? Instructional coaches may be granted 5 to 10 extended service days at their per diem rate as
determined by the curriculum director.

Exposure to adverse weather conditions and seasonal temperature extremes.
Duties may require operating and/or riding in a vehicle.
Duties may require prolonged use of a computer keyboard and monitor.
Duties may require detailed paperwork.
Duties may require working under time constraints to meet deadlines.
Duties may require working during the evening and/or weekend.
