We are hiring for either a Mental Health Clinician II or a Mental Health Care Provider depending on which an Applicant qualifies for as outlined below:
ACCESS TO CARE (ATC)
These services are available to adults or youth in Spokane County who are struggling to get or stay connected with healthcare providers. Work one-on-one with individuals to find dental care, physical health care, and substance use treatment providers that are most accessible for the individual. This team works as a healthcare guide, helping to educate, advocate, and motivate individuals to meet their specific healthcare goals.
MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN II
In this position, the Mental Health Clinician will complete comprehensive intake assessments including risk assessments, preliminary diagnoses, and treatment recommendations for individuals of all ages seeking services at FBH to determine individual meets medical necessity and eligibility for FBH outpatient services. Provide care coordination and linking with appropriate community providers for persons who are not eligible for or able to benefit from services at FBH. Requires timely completion of documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following:
1. Understand and adhere to all agency policies and procedures, WAC and RCW requirements.
2. Provide initial assessments both in office and in the community for persons seeking services at FBH to determine individual meets medical necessity and eligibility for FBH outpatient services.
- Involves comprehensive assessments, preliminary diagnoses and treatment recommendations for both youth and adults.
- Involves completing Consent to Release Confidential Information with the client and guardians, when appropriate, for any current and past behavioral health treatment, involved allied service provider, and natural supports.
- Intakes should be completed concurrently with the client.
- Accurately determine the program assignment for individuals who are enrolled.
3. Conduct risk assessments, develop and implement safety plans, and provide crisis intervention and stabilization services as needed, including facilitating access to inpatient facilities for behavioral health care. Complete duty to warn notifications as appropriate.
4. Complete clinical paperwork (intake assessment, progress notes, etc.) in a timely, accurate and legible (typed) manner.
5. Maintain client records and all other required documentation in a timely and confidential manner, in accordance with agency policies and practices.
6. Provide care coordination and linking with appropriate community providers for persons who are not eligible for or able to benefit from services at FBH.
7. Represent the agency and its services to the community in a positive and professional manner.
8. Participate in required staff meetings, including regular supervision and weekly clinical staff meetings.
9. Participate in any required training, consultation calls, and onsite visits or reviews when required by contract.
10. Maintain professional credentials, including continuing education as applicable.
11. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFIED MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN II CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
REQUIRED:
1. Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
2. At the time of hire, must have applied for one of the following DOH credentials:
- Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor (LAAC) OR
- License Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) OR
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate (LICSWA) OR
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) AND THEN
- Credential must be active with DOH within 6 months of hire date unless currently have active License - LMHC, LMFT, or LICSW.
3. Meet the requirements of a Mental Health Professional as defined by WAC 246-341-0200.
PREFERRED:
- Two years of experience providing clinical behavioral health services preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate and engage effectively with individuals of varied backgrounds, traumatic experiences, cultures, education level and socio-economic status.
- Knowledge of Washington Administrative Codes and statutes pertaining to the treatment and delivery of mental health services.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are needed.
- Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th edition (DSM-5) or its successor.
- Ability to concurrently document in an EMR during the intake interview.
- Must have reliable transportation, insurance and an active drivers’ license and be willing to use personal vehicle in the course of work.
MENTAL HEALTH CARE PROVIDER:
In this position, the Mental Health Care Provider (MHCP) will complete comprehensive intake assessments including risk assessments, preliminary diagnoses, and treatment recommendations for individuals of all ages seeking services at FBH to determine individual meets medical necessity and eligibility for FBH outpatient services. All intakes and diagnoses completed by a Mental Health Care Provider (MHCP) must be reviewed by a clinical supervisor who is a Mental Health Professional able to independently provide assessments and diagnose. The MHCP also provides care coordination and linking with appropriate community providers for persons who are not eligible for or able to benefit from services at FBH.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFIED MENTAL HEALTH CARE PROVIDER CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field from an accredited college or university and at least five years of experience working in direct treatment of persons with a mental disorder gained under the supervision of a Mental Health Professional.
- At the time of hire, must have applied for the DOH Certified Agency Affiliated Counselor credential.
PREFERRED:
- Active DOH Certified Agency Affiliated Counselor credential.

- Mental Health Care Provider - $25.89 - $31.53
- Mental Health Clinician II - No Licensure:$31.84 - $38.79
- Mental Health Clinician III - Licensure: $33.70 - $41.06
*All pay is based on longevity at Frontier Behavioral Health; thus the starting pay for this position is as follows:
- Mental Health Care Provider - $25.89 per hour.
- Mental Health Clinician II - No Licensure: $31.84 per hour.
- Mental Health Clinician III - Licensure: $33.70 per hour.
