Mill Pond Estate is a rapidly growing 18-acre family estate, working farm, and venue that hosts weddings and other events. We are looking to add a hard-working and reliable animal lover to our team!
Daily duties will include:
- Taking care of a variety of animals including, dogs, horses, cows, chickens, goats, and a tortoise.
- Feeding, grooming, exercising / training, and administering any medications to the animals according to schedules.
- Monitor animal health and report any concerns.
- Scheduling any appointments as needed.
- Making sure the barn and farm areas are clean and tidy, including cleaning dog kennals mucking out stalls, dragging the paddocks, and riding the arena.
- Restocking and ordering feed and supplies as needed.
- Perform regular maintenance on barn facilities and equipment.
- On event days, duties may include helping set up and break down for events.
Job Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have experience handling and training (standard obedience + Behavioral training) high-energy working dogs.
- Must have experience with Dog conflict resolution.
- Must have experience with and be comfortable around large farm animals.
- Must have an understanding of the general health, care, and nutritional needs of all of our animals.
- Must be comfortable working outside, in Florida weather conditions (sometimes hot and muggy) preforming manual labor.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have the ability to strategize workload for self and other team members.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
