JOB SUMMARY
A professional and high energy bartender possesses excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages as well as food to our patrons. The bartender will greet patrons, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages as well as serve food. You will also upsell items, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. To succeed as a bartender, you should have a neat appearance and an engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable, as well as responsible and accountable. All front of house staff answers to the bar manager and owners in a professional and respectful manner.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Welcoming patrons, reading and listening to people to determine food and beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking food and drink orders.
· Promoting and informing patrons about new food or beverages and specials, as well as consistent inventory.
· Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to patrons.
· Accurately checking identification to ensure all patrons are the legal age of 21 to purchase alcohol and be within the premises.
· Restocking inventory and supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked, as well as insuring efficient use of bar inventory and supplies.
· Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
· Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, all while accurately balancing the cash drawers and Big Red Keno drawer.
· Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, “timely” cleaning tables and bar, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment (to include cleaning all furniture, equipment, and flooring).
· Utilizes and completes daily a checklist of duties and responsibilities.
· Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
· High school diploma. Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required.
· Is within reasonable walking distance or owns and operates his/her own vehicle.
· Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and/or some holidays.
· Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
· Basic math and computer skills.
· Strong task and time management abilities.
· Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
· Ability to work under pressure in a stressful, loud, and hot environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6.00 – 20.00 per week
