The ideal candidate has a strong passion for demonstrating culinary excellence and a keen eye for detail. You will assist in providing exceptional food quality and presentation. Working with and caring for fresh, seasonal, and local produce, you will be an integral part of connecting local farmers and artisans with our guests.
Our kitchen features high-quality, Italian-minded cuisine, with a foundation built upon seasonal and artisanal local products. DANCIN Vineyards is an award-winning establishment with high standards focused on creating a memorable guest experience. Our venue also provides banquet-style service for on-site events, as well as fine dining service for Winemaker Dinners, Harvest Dinners, etc.
A successful candidate will have previous experience in a fast-paced work environment with time management skills to stay busy during down time, knowledge and application of maintaining a sanitary and safe workspace.
Clear and professional communication will differentiate a good candidate from a stellar candidate.
Must be available and willing to work evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
· Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of DANCIN Vineyards
· Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using a dishwashers or by hand.
· Keep equipment and work area clean and immediately report any functional or mechanical problems to your supervisor.
· Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
· Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
· Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
· Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
· Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
· Sweep or scrub floors.
· Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
· Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
· Receive and store supplies.
· Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
· Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
· Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
· Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
· Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and demonstration of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and efficiently with kitchen lead, kitchen team members, and servers.
- Must be able to follow directions, to take criticism, to get along with team members and leads, and to treat leads, team members and guests with respect and courtesy.
- Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to be on time as scheduled with a mindset and focus to perform at the highest level of efficiency.
- Must be able to work in a high-paced environment and stand for extended amounts of time.
