Job Purpose
The Operations Support Specialist will support HSU Hospitality Management and ensure all restaurant operations run smoothly, consistently, and efficiently. This position coaches and supports restaurant managers in implementing policies, optimizing processes, and ensuring high standards of service and customer satisfaction. The Operations Support Specialist establishes and updates standard operating procedures for multiple restaurant concepts.
Duties and Responsibilities (includes but not limited to)
Operational Support:
- Provide day-to-day support to restaurant managers
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures
- Monitor and analyze restaurant performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
Training and Development:
- Conduct training sessions for the managers as needed
- Ensure all restaurant managers are knowledgeable about company policies, procedures, menu items, and customer service standards
- Develop training materials and programs to enhance restaurant manager's skills and performance
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Ensure that all operations comply with health and safety regulations and industry standards
- Address any compliance issues and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Establishes and updates training guides, handbooks, and other company documents
- Conducts regular audits of company equipment, vehicles, and additional assets
- Conducts inspections for external and internal permits and/or licenses
Strategic Planning:
- Participate in the development of long-term operational strategies
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in restaurant operations
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices
Support for Staff:
- Provide support and guidance to restaurant managers to ensure they have the necessary tools and information to perform their duties effectively
- Address and resolve any operational/data issues that arise promptly and effectively
- Serves as manager on duty when needed for all restaurant locations
Financial Management:
- Implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability
Customer Service:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall customer experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or related field
- 5 years of restaurant management
- 3 years of BOH experience
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in using restaurant management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Working Conditions
- The Operations Support Manager typically works in a dynamic and fast-paced restaurant environment
- The role may require working long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak periods
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks may be necessary
- Often work indoors but may work outdoors on rare occasions
- May be exposed to hazardous situations and contaminants weekly
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Must be able to lift 15-20 pounds at a time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
