Housekeeper – Biltmore Company. 04/01/2024 – 01/07/2025. 28 temporary full-time openings.
Perform combination of cleaning duties to maintain buildings and hotels in a clean and orderly manner, according to expected standards, speed requirements and detailed cleanliness level. Duties include upkeep and presentation of rooms and other locations as assigned; dusting; vacuuming; polishing furniture; sanitizing bathrooms and replenishing amenities. May include basic laundering, folding and stacking linens. Duties may also include deep cleaning projects and/or floor care as required. Perform other related duties as required. Shifts vary and range from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM; 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM. 35 Hours per week. Overtime may be available, but is not guaranteed. Resort is open 7 days per week. Work days and shift times will vary. Shifts vary based on estate location, business levels, occupancy and scheduled events. Holiday and weekend shifts are required. $16 per hour and $24.00 per hour for OT when available. Employer may increase wage based on experience. Must be able to work holidays and weekends. Previous experience in housekeeping, custodial, janitorial, or related work preferred, but not required. All applicants (U.S. workers and foreign workers) must meet hiring standards of Biltmore: must be functionally literate and have a criminal background check void of any misdemeanors within 2 years or felonies within 7 years. Will check references. Employer will conduct background check will be conducted following offer of employment. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull 25 - 50 lbs. frequently. Must climb stairs and ladders; endure various physical movements throughout work areas during work shift such as: kneeling, bending, stooping, reaching overhead, etc.; and have the ability to work in an environment that may include: variable conditions and noise levels, outdoor environments with fluctuations in temperature and weather conditions, exposure to fumes, dust and chemicals, moving mechanical parts. Employer will use a single workweek to compute wage due. Employer uses a Thursday - Wednesday workweek as the standard for computing wages due and are paid weekly. Employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck as required by law. Employer will provide workers without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the job. Workers have the option to live in Employer provided housing. EMPLOYEE ONLY SHARED HOUSING WILL BE AVAILABLE WITH COSTS RANGING FROM $120 - $150 WEEKLY DEPENDING ON LOCATION AND AMENITIES. Violations of housing policies, loss of keys or damages beyond normal wear and tear may result in additional housing costs, as outlined in Employee Housing Agreement signed at time of move in. TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE THROUGH COMPANY PROVIDED SHUTTLE SERVICE FOR DAILY TRAVEL TO AND FROM WORK IS AVAILABLE FOR $20 PER WEEK THROUGH PAYROLL DEDUCTION. Employee badge allows employee use of city bus system at no cost. HOUSING AND TRANSPORTATION COSTS WILL BE PAYROLL DEDUCTED IF EMPLOYEE ELECTS TO MAKE USE OF THEM. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). Employer will provide transportation and subsistence (including meals and to the extent necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of work. If the worker does not use the Employer arranged and paid for transportation, the employer will reimburse the worker for any transportation costs incurred. If the workers require reimbursement for any transportation costs, and subsistence (including meals and lodging), the employer will reimburse workers in the first week. Upon completion of the employment period or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation & subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical & reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Work location: Biltmore Company, One Approach Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
