Follow all Safety Rules and Regulations
Set up and operate flexographic printing press to print designs or lettering on raw materials (plastic film, paper, and nonabsorbent) roll stock for use in making products for, but not limited to, food packaging.
Setup and operate defect detection and color monitoring equipment.
Responsible for one press assistants
Reads entire job ticket for information required for the set up and running of production order.
Retrieve all necessary components such as sleeves, plates, anilox rollers, cores, film and ink and preform a pre-make ready checklist
Check printed copy and color against the approved sample pdf/proof/standard for the job.
Adjust inks to design expectations, measure color using Xrite Spectro densitometer and record data in ColorCert
Ensure proper viscosity is maintained throughout run.
Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications.
Responsible for Food Safety (SQF)
Check jobs off before Press Runs
Ensure presses stay clean and like new
Report any maintenance issues to the Press Supervisor
Ensure a clean and safe work area.
Optimize safety (food and workplace), quality, yield, and productivity
Complete production paperwork.
Train new associates.
Other duties as assigned.
Be available to cover absences within the department as requested by management.
