Job Summary:
Mission Springs Camps & Conference Center is hiring a nurse for our Outdoor Education Program. The Nurse is responsible for the care and supervision of all medical services to children and youth participating in the Outdoor Education program.
General Responsibilities:
- Illness and injury management
- Setting up and organizing Health Room
- Ensuring inventory of first aid supplies is maintained
- Maintains student and adult registration and medical forms
- Maintain a log of student visits
- Intake, storage, and administration of all prescription and over-the-counter medications
- Communicate with the Outdoor Education Director and on-site visiting teachers regarding student injury or illness
- Contribute in a positive manner to the team culture of Mission Springs
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Good communication skills
- Licensed as a registered nurse in the State of California
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience working with children and youth preferred
- Ability to maintain and administer medications
- Ability to make decisions and take initiative under pressure
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Environment: Indoor and Outdoor
- Work Hours: Ranging between 7:45 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., occasionally on-call if needed.
- Physical Requirements: Bending, stooping, lifting, some time spent at a computer.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
