What you will do...
In the role of Material Handler you will work in the manufacturing facility for Fairway Architectural Railing Solutions in Lamar, Missouri.
You will report directly to the Project Engineer and will be responsible for assisting with the set up and installation of equipment as well as production of goods in a timely and efficient manner. You will work with machinery and equipment.
The Material Handler...
- Loads and unloads incoming and outgoing materials and products.
- Moves materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas.
- Identifies and labels materials and records their locations in the warehouse/on shelves to maintain inventory.
- Prepares finished products for shipment by identifying their location, then pulling, packing, and loading.
- Operates forklifts and other equipment to move freight.
- Complies with all production/warehouse safety rules and guidelines.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment by following company policies and procedures.
- Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, safe work and trust among team.
- May perform driver/delivery duties as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (required except where noted):
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Class E driver's license with medical card preferred.
- Certification to ride forklift truck preferred.
- Previous experience working in a production or warehouse setting preferred.
- Experience in operating material handling equipment preferred.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing (including email) in a clear and concise manner.
- Understanding to exhibit professionalism to peers and superiors.
- Ability to work well under limited supervision.
- Ability to operate computers and relevant warehouse management computer software.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions and documented procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear
- The employee is required to stand for most of the work shift
- The employee is often required to walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 10 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- The work environment is manufacturing based. Noise levels may be moderate to high
- Employee may be exposed to fumes and particles
- Personal protective equipment is provided
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $21.32 per hour
