Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare and maintain patient records, including medical coding and documentation
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment system
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- X-ray certification
- Knowledge of medical coding, medical documentation, and medical records management
- Experience working with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software is a plus
- Experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred
- Proficiency in using dental software, such as Epic, is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
