The Referral Clerk is the main link between patients, insurance companies, and other provider offices. They are responsible for coordinating and completing referrals, obtaining and arranging referral appointments, answering patient questions in a timely manner, and tracking referrals. They establish a smooth working relationship between HSHP, insurance companies, and other provider offices. They provide services that reflect the Mission, standards, and philosophy of the Hot Springs Health Program.
A. Schedule referral appointments with other provider offices and for diagnostic tests within 24 hours and fax information as needed.
B. Notify patients in a timely manner of referral appointment time.
C. Arrange for insurance authorizations on referral appointments.
D. Notify Provider of patient’s failed appointments.
E. Reschedule appointments as needed
F. Demonstrates good verbal, written communication, and telephone skills.
G. Track diagnostic test results with the exception of lab work.
Education and Experience
A. Education: High School graduate or GED
B. Experience: Referral Clerk experience required. Computer experience required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.50 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
