Promote positive safety practices both within and outside of school buildings.
Carry out communicable disease prevention and infection control based on current guidelines for universal precautions, prevention of bloodborne pathogens exposure and hazardous medical waste disposal. Provide medically prescribed interventions including medication administration (Based on State and Local Regulations), nursing procedures, and assists with nursing care to students on a daily basis.Maintain comprehensive health records of all interventions provided to individually assigned students. To be directly responsible to the building nurse for all activities related to medical concerns. Assist with any health related tasks as deemed necessary by the Supervisor of Nursing and/or the building school nurse, with individual students or in the building's health office.
To be directly responsible to the classroom teacher for all activities related to instruction,Assist the classroom teacher in carrying out the goals and objectives of student's I.E.P.'s. To confer with parents of special education students as needed with attendance at individual student's I.E.P. meetings if requested to attend. To assist individual special education students with travel to and from school if needed.
