High Watch Recovery Center is seeking to experienced Wellness Specialist. This position is responsible for creating and conducting wellness programs for the guests and staff. The Wellness Specialist will assist clinical staff in providing best care for pain management and anxiety relief by providing alternative tools to help deal with stress and anxiety through many holistic health modalities. Maintain a safe and efficient working and treatment environment per company policies, procedures and best practices; communicates effectively with the treatment team to ensure safe, quality care is provided to all guests.
JOB DUTIES:
- Conduct Massage Therapy for staff and guests.
- Provide stress management groups and bedtime meditation.
- Have the ability to provide some modalities that will be used for stress and anxiety relief are but not limited to Aromatherapy, Meditation and/or Reflexology.
- Facilitate groups teaching relaxation and self soothing techniques.
- Will update and maintain Zen charts for groups and massage therapy for guests.
- Will coordinate scheduling and massages for staff and guests.
- Facilitates coordination of wellness care to include therapeutic interventions, and guest progress in treatment.
- Completes other tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- CT State Licensed Massage Therapist
- AMTA Membership
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND ATTITUDES REQUIRED
- Knowledge of software programs for personal computer use, especially word processing, email, spreadsheets.
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Ability to maintain and demonstrate ethical professional standards and demeanor, including the confidentiality of employee and quest data, quest boundaries, and other sensitive information.
- Demonstrated competence with, and continued commitment to respect for cultural differences and diversity, protecting guest rights.
- Recognition of the limits of one’s own professional expertise and the willingness to seek supervision and/or support, as needed.
- Provide the therapeutic health services that the Wellness Specialist is qualified and authorized to provide.
- Ability to teach groups: relaxation techniques, meditation, Yoga, breathwork and movement.
