Job Description
Duties:
Supervision of Health Facility Surveyors. Perform evaluations of Health Facility Surveyors according to established procedures and report findings to the Director of Survey Operations. Performance reviews will be performed according to established procedures, to ensure the quality of the health, life safety code (LSC), and emergency preparedness (EP) surveys.
Provide survey support to surveyors, utilizing CertiSurv policies, procedures, and checklists; CMS survey processes and manuals; and state survey processes. Serve as liaison between surveyors and state survey agency, as needed.
Communication with state agencies will be required, which could include participation in initial state agency calls, survey revision requests, and seeking survey guidance.
Participate in pre-exit debriefings as requested, providing expert advice on regulations and provide feedback to the survey team on the investigations.
Weekend on-call rotation required.
In-field oversight of surveyors, as needed.
Track and provide feedback on surveyor performance, according to established procedures, to the Director of Survey Operations, Training Coordinator, and CEO (if applicable).
May be asked to assist with developing surveyor tools, such as checklists and investigative tools, or provide surveyor training.
Work with scheduler to review assignments and number of intakes/allegations to determine survey team size, as needed.
Participate and/or present at staff meetings when requested.
Conduct interviews for potential new hires and follow new hire process for onboarding and evaluations.
Attend training sessions offered by federal/state officials, and CertiSurv.
Remain up to date on federal and state regulations and mandatory CMS training.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Survey Operations.
Work Environment:
Supervision and monitoring of surveyors will be performed remotely, but might require some in-field oversight. Must be able to efficiently perform tasks under demanding/competing deadlines. Extensive use of technology is required, including email, internet, laptop, survey software, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word/Excel, and communication/webinar software. May require extended work hours, depending on survey schedules. After-hour on call rotation will be required. Occasional travel may be required.

Hiring Requirements:
-Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a surveyor.
-Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) certification.
-Two years management/supervisor experience is preferred.
-Prior experience writing and reviewing survey findings.
-Strong communication skills.
-Strong writing and grammar skills.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

- being a state survey agency or CMS surveyor employee: 5 years (Required)
- Manager/Supervisor: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
