JOB SUMMARY
Distributes workload to maintenance personnel and coordinates the flow of equipment due for maintenance and preventative maintenance service. Train repair staff in all technical areas and maintain records pertaining to the department.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Distributes workload to line personnel and trains personnel on equipment repairs. Directs work of department personnel on all maintenance service and preventative maintenance service.
- Assistsstockroom person in ordering and locating parts. Helps to maintain inventory of parts.
- Inspects equipment on a routine basis to ensure proper repairs have been completed and investigates operators complaints to ensure safety and integrity of equipment.
- Performs equipment repairs when needed.
- Verifies work standards are maintained and work completed within established time frames.
- Directs cleaning of work area and equipment and reports to maintenance manager on equipment refurbishing needs.
- Ensuresproper tools are maintained by maintenance personnel and upkeep of tool container.
- Assists in compliance with OSHA and other legal/regulatory requirements
- Performs all other duties as requested.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Five years experience in heavy equipment repairs.
LICENSE:
Certification in diesel, hydraulic and electrical repairs. Valid Local Driver's License and Valid Passport.
TRAVEL:
10% Travel to various Tropical locations.
PHYSICAL:
Operations - Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer or handheld. Ability to frequently twist, bend, reach, squat, kneel, climb on equipment, push/pull 50 pounds, crawl, lift and carry at least 80 pounds on a daily basis. Able to withstand constant exposure to extreme weather conditions. Ability to travel in various modes of transportation (e.g. automobile, airplane, train etc.) Occasionally exposed to outside elements during the course of traveling.
