How you will contribute:
- Conduct new employee safety & training orientation
- Ownership of fleet driver safety orientation, driver assessment, ride along, accident reporting/review & remedial training
- Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and areas for improvement
- Inventories & maintains appropriate quantities of necessary safety equipment & PPE
- Perform job hazard assessments (JHA) & monitor adherence to the established safety &
training programs
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the safety & training programs and make recommendations
for improvements
- Maintain safety & training records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Prepare, schedule & conduct safety meetings & tool box talks
- Safety program & policy handbook
- Incident/accident reporting, investigation (root cause analysis) and retraining as needed
- Monitor fleet GPS system
- Maintain & update OSHA logs and OSHA reporting requirements
- Complete job safety reports for bid purposes
- Oversee & coordinate facility grounds safety needs
- Other duties as assigned
Who you are/what you will bring:
- Bilingual - Fluent in written and oral communication English & Spanish
- 3+ years as a Safety/Training Coordinator in the Construction Industry
- Valid drivers license with 3+ years safe driving experience
- High level of adaptability, flexibility and effectiveness in handling multiple priorities
simultaneously
- Poised, confident and engaging presenter of a variety of topics in a range of settings
- Strong report writing skills to document training activities and outcomes
- Familiarity with workers compensation laws and occupational health regulations
- Exceptional relationship building and influencing qualities with the ability to assist with
leading a diverse team
- Skilled in assessing, teaching and creating buy in with the team
- Tech savvy with ability to utilize technology for development of training materials and
general work deliverables
- Ability to formulate & write a variety of documents, reports, training course outlines and
other necessary documents
- OSHA construction certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Construction/concrete industry experience
As a Safety & Training Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that employees receive the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their jobs safely & effectively. You will be responsible for coordinating, developing, and delivering various safety & training programs. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with different stakeholders.
