SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
Bartenders are professional, have a high energy, and exhibit excellent communication skills to serve our beverages and cocktails to our guests. The bartender will greet guests, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. They will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment, and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. Bartenders need to have a neat appearance, engaging, friendly personality, and should be observant, efficient, knowledgeable, and personable.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide excellent, friendly, courteous, and professional service to all internal and external guests, in every interaction.

Maintain and ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of work area/assigned station and the establishment.

Provide service to and be accountable for an assigned station and section.

Anticipates guests needs when required.

Respond to guests requests in an accurate and timely manner, creating a positive outcome that will result in a memorable experience.

Proper handling of VIPs, recognize repeat guests, and protect their privacy and confidentiality.

Perform accurate cash/credit handling and POS procedures in accordance with policies and procedures.

Maintain knowledge about surroundings, i.e. nearby entertainment, theaters, etc.

Greet guests upon them sitting in your assigned section.

Provide guests a complete introduction and a menu tour.

Take all guests orders in a timely manner, always writing them down.

Prepare all alcoholic and N/A beverages for guests at both the bar as well as guests in the restaurant using correct recipes, garnishes, and glassware.

Mark all of your tables with the appropriate settings for dishes as it applies.

Maintain the quality of the food, beverages, and restaurant by performing frequent checks.

Assist in bussing, cleaning, and resetting the bar top when appropriate.

Keep beverages filled for guests.

At the conclusion of the guests meals, drop the check and process payment when appropriate.

Restock and maintain par levels of all beverages needed for service.

Assists in all beverage inventories.

Communicates with MOD for 86d items during each shift.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 1-year previous restaurant or hotel experience.

California Food Handlers certified.

TIPS certified.
-
Excellent listening and communication skills; teamwork is key.

Must have the ability to carry large trays of drinks and food and have the ability to organize multiple orders.

Maintain a high level of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.

Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and late hours when necessary.

Must have the ability to report to work on time and when scheduled.

Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.

Ability to behave at all times based on a guest responsive culture where exceptional guest service prevails.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of one year of experience in restaurants

A comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business

Computer literacy to include: Micros, POS systems
Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.

Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.

May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.

Requires grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
