This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of and ability to apply a wide range of information technology concepts, principles, theories, and practices involved in LAN/WAN configuration, integration and troubleshooting to resolve issues related to the planning, development, fielding, accrediting and sustainment of complex Defensive Cyber Operations weapons systems. Thorough knowledge of engineering in environments consisting of VMware, Microsoft and UNIX Operating Systems. Certification in VMware (VCP), Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE) and/or Linux (Linux+/LPIC 1&2) is preferred. Knowledge of a variety of environments consisting of Cisco routers, switches and Adaptive Security Appliances with a certification in Cisco (CCNA and/or CCNP). Knowledge of security procedures to maintain control of classified material, preparation of security controls and artifacts in support of risk management framework (RMF) accreditation and remediation of vulnerabilities. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
- Technical expertise in the concepts, principles, theories, and practices involved in LAN/WAN configuration, integration and troubleshooting to resolve issues related to the planning, development, fielding, accrediting and sustainment of complex Defensive Cyber Operations weapons systems.
- Knowledge and experience engineering in environments consisting of VMware, Microsoft and UNIX Operating Systems. Certification in VMware (VCP), Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE) and/or Linux (Linux+/LPIC 1&2) is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience engineering in environments consisting of Cisco routers, switches and Adaptive Security Appliances. Certification in Cisco (CCNA and/or CCNP) is preferred.
- Knowledge of security procedures to maintain control of classified material, preparation of security controls and artifacts in support of RMF accreditation and remediation of vulnerabilities.
- Knowledge and understanding of agency, AF, Department of Defense (DoD), and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s).
- Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, investigate, and resolve complex issues or problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, in order to produce highly technical reports, position papers, and briefings which are appropriate for the intended audience; and to maintain good working relationships.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT.
- Security: Position is designated Special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
- Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.\
- Positions which perform information security as an inherent, primary purpose of their position: Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
- Positions designated as an acquisition position: Positions are covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) and the employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
