Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician
Department/Location: Behavioral Health Technician/Housing departments
Reports to: BHT Supervisor
Supervises: Not applicable
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
General purpose of the position is to maintain the day to day operations of the facility for the scheduled shift. Observing and reporting of clients andworking cohesively with the BHT Supervisor, Lead Behavioral Health Technician and other management.
Responsibilities:
● Ensure adherence to the day to day operations of the clinical program
● Complete BHT daily assignments as directed
● Complete intake and admission assessments, belongings searches, etc
● Complete discharge paperwork
● Communicate all client concerns and document as required
● Maintain customer satisfaction through positive interactions with clients
● Ensure client’s immediate needs are met
● Redirect clients in a respectful manner when necessary
● Report all adverse client behaviors and concerns
● Work cohesively with all departments for the common purpose of client care and client safety ● Maintain the clinical building per Joint Commission and DCF standards
● Maintain the clinical building per company operational systems, including cleaning of the inside and outside
● Communicate any unsafe or in need of repair conditions of the clinical building to the BHT Supervisor, Lead BHT and other Director’s and document in shift reports
● Provide transportation as instructed by the BHT Supervisor and Lead BHT; inclusive of following the Transportation Policy
● Supervise all client activities
● Make rounds and document as required
● Observe and conduct Urine Drug Screens
● Follow all state, federal, Joint Commission and DCF standards
● Communicate all client emergent situations in a calm and organized manner to appropriate parties
● Follow the client schedules as defined and ensure the clients are present and on time
● Assist in training BHT staff as warranted
● Facilitate client groups under the direction of the Clinical Director and Supervisor
● Assist with disinfecting the facility
● Miscellaneous Housing keeping duties
● Folding laundry and linens as warranted
● Facilitating groups
● Complete all documentation and group notes within the allotted time frame.
Performance Objectives:
● Communicate all department needs to the supervisor
● Ensure 100% compliance with Life Safety and Environment of Care standards
● Attend all meetings and trainings as scheduled
● Ensure personal state required trainings are current
● Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and ethical behavior at all times with clients, families and other professionals
Essential Skills:

● Basic computer knowledge
● Knowledge of KIPU EMR

Desirable Skills:
● Experience in Joint Commission and DCF regulations
● Experience in the substance abuse/mental health care field
● Knowledge of the 12 Steps
State of Emergency Declared: In the event that a state of emergency is declared, employees may be required to stay on sight during the state of emergency based on their position. This may include situations such as snow storms, ice storms, hurricanes, tropical storms, or any other government declaring a state of emergency, as well as an extraordinary company emergency as designated by the Chief Operations Officer. As a part of their job responsibilities, designated employees are expected to work through the state of emergency.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
