Pregnant and parenting teenage moms in the foster care system are placed with us in our Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program. These teen moms have had lives of abuse, neglect, and other trauma, and need your support to heal from their trauma, get back on the path to finish high school, and learn to be loving parents. In this position you will work closely with these troubled teens and their babies in a fast-paced, supportive workplace.
Salary is $20.50 an hour, with outstanding benefits, including generous healthcare coverage, paid time off, and a 6% company match to the 403(b) retirement plan. Raises are available during the first year and during annual reviews.
We are currently hiring for the following shifts only: Tuesday through Saturday (2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.); Friday through Monday (12:00 noon - 10:00 p.m.) to support our young mothers and their babies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 21 years old and a desire to assist others.
- Positive attitude and commitment to change the lives of teen moms and their children.
- Bachelor's degree OR one year of full-time experience working in an STRTP, group home, or residential substance abuse program required.
- Possess a California driver's license and current car insurance.
- Due to the nature of this position's duties, only female candidates will be considered for hire
Description: Non-exempt position that provides direct care and supervision of resident minors and their babies. Reports to the Operations Director; responsible to Senior Residential Counselor and Program Manager.

Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
General:
- Exhibit a professional attitude and model appropriate attire, communication and personal interaction for residents.
- Attend all orientations, trainings and staff meetings as directed.
- Complete all training requirements (40 hrs. annually).
- Be a flexible member of the team by assisting and supporting other programs or staff as needed.
- Log in and check all staff communication each day prior to working in the home.
Child Care and Supervision:
- Oversee the general safety and well-being of all residents on assigned shift.
- Conduct and document checks for residents every 15 minutes.
- Teach by example with positive role modeling and encouragement.
- Assist as needed with residents’ personal care and planned activities.
- Administer Behavioral Support & Management Plan, apply appropriate methods of discipline, and use emergency interventions if needed, according to Pro-ACT principles.
- Maintain excellent professional and personal boundaries with residents.
- Comply with the residents’ personal rights.
- Assure compliance of residents with the House Rules.
- Participate in shift transition meetings at the beginning of each shift and review Supervision Log.
- Follow all Community Care Licensing and Title 22 regulations with regard to food storage and preparation.
- Transport residents and babies to planned and unplanned appointments as needed in agency vehicles.
- Provide assistance and supervision to new mothers, including taking over care of the baby when appropriate.
- Assure that infants/toddlers needs are met in regard to diaper changing, feeding and supervision by the minor mother or by you.
- Alert the Social Service Team to residents’ and babies’ progress in the Program and identify possible needs.
- Perform all required documentations on a daily basis, including but not limited to entries in the communication log, clinical charts, progress notes, Supervision Log as well as Special Incident Reports, Child Abuse Reporting and Ouch Reports if required.
- Assure appropriate procedures are followed for on-site and off-site passes, including the passing of medications and monitoring visits as necessary.
- Any other responsibilities as designated by the Executive Director, Operations Director or Program Manager.'
