Position Summary:
Our 8th Avenue Maintenance Technician roles are accountable for successful, timely, and accurate repair and maintenance of production and packaging equipment. Our Maintenance Technicians regularly inspect equipment, structures, material for wear and tear, and are accountable for completing work orders and ad hoc repairs assigned to them. The Maintenance team should safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, basic electrical testing equipment to perform these tasks, along with annual preventative maintenance tasks to ensure our equipment produces our food products are manufactured in a safely, efficiently, and according to quality and food safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily maintenance tasks and troubleshooting of packaging and production equipment and systems, including: extruder, dryers, high speed packaging including cartoners, baggers, case-packers, palletizers, low pressure boilers, thermal fluid process heaters, material handling systems, water chillers, compressed air systems, and HVAC systems
- Partner with operations and maintenance teams to solve repetitive problems, complete preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance responsibilities in a safe, effective, and compliant manner
- Partner with operations to learn operating systems, while providing training on mechanical components
- Train operations staff on operating systems and operator basic care responsibilities
- Responsible for taking necessary action on all food safety and quality problems reported or observed

Education & Experience Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution and one or more of the following:
- Two-year Associates Degree or higher in technical field (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, etc.)
- Completed apprenticeship in mechanic, mechanical maintenance, or electro-mechanical, electrical, or related field
- Military training and experience in a relevant Military Occupational Specialty (MOS)
- 2+ years hands-on experience in a mechanic, maintenance, electrical, electro-mechanical, controls and automation role
- 1+ years’ experience as operator in a food manufacturing facility
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Possession of valid Oregon millwright manufacturing card/license
- Previous maintenance experience in a food manufacturing facility
- Previous experience reading blueprints and schematics
- Previous experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Previous experience with power transmission components; belt drives, chain drives, bearings, motors & gears
- Previous experience with drill presses, lathes, Bridgeport-type mills
- Experience with operation and maintenance of forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulated lifts
Physical Requirements: Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Must be able to bend, crouch, stoop, sit, and kneel for 4+ hours per shift
- Must be able to balance for 8+ hours per shift
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs for 8+ hours per shift
- Must be able to climb/work off ladder, and reach above shoulders for 4+ hours per shift
- Must be able to work in a dusty environment, high heat, or humidity for 8+ hours per shift
- Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds infrequently

Pay: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour
