The Nutrition positions provide sports nutrition programming to enhance the health and performance of elite football student-athletes competing for a highly competitive, Division I athletics program. Responsibilities include assisting and/or directing athletic food service operations, counseling football team members on daily nutrition for performance and health both on-site and during travel; translating the latest scientific evidence into practical sports nutrition recommendations; tracking and documenting outcomes of nutrition services; serving as a food and nutrition resource for student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, athletics support staff, food service vendors/representatives, and parents; providing or assisting in sports nutrition education for maintaining and promoting health and wellness; and, maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional practice, individual and team nutrition counseling and education. This position is expected to be a leader within the department by cultivating a positive culture and promoting the core values.
This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department’s Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA.
