Schedule options:
· Full Time Fri-Sun Nights (Premium Weekend Add On Applicable)
· Full Time Mon-Thurs 6a-330p with Weekend Rotation
· PRN as needed

Wayne Medical Center Laboratory is a CAP accredited rural health facility that provides both emergency room and outpatient services. It is a fast-paced environment with opportunities to grow current skills as well as learn new ones. The instrumentation is upgraded and state of the art, allowing for reliable and consistent patient testing with minimal downtime. The lab is operated by a cohesive, team approach that engages all areas of the hospital for the overall care of the patient. About the Position:
Summary-
· Functions under routine supervisor to perform laboratory testing in areas assigned; is capable of recognizing problems and abnormal results.
Qualifications-
· Authorized to Work in the United States
· Holds National Accreditation as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist
· Has an associates or bachelors degree in a biological science
Key Responsibilities-
· Requires minimal supervision, acts independently within guidelines, manages multiple tasks with accuracy/ efficiency. Proactively solves problems/keeps supervisor informed
Meets productivity standards, assumes responsibility for completion of scheduled tests including pending log review and reconciliation.
· Performs, evaluates and documents daily/periodic QC and equipment
Thoroughly evaluates and takes appropriate action to ensure accurate result reporting according to written guidelines and good laboratory practice.
· Successful completion of internal/external proficiency testing events
· Participate in change of shift documentation and verbal communication of outstanding issues, reports to assigned area at beginning of shift.
· Contributes to positive work environment and promotes excellent customer service. Consistently recognized for positive interaction and attitude. Keeps negative comments out of work area and contributes positively to morale
· Follows departmental computer guidelines. Utilizes LIS to accurately and effectively report patient results.
· Maintains an understanding of local, state, and federal laws, as well as The JC, applicable to specific department job duties. Meets national patient safety goals standards.
