Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Immigration Paralegal to join our team. As an Immigration Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in assisting our attorneys with various immigration cases and providing support throughout the legal process. Responsibilities:
- Must be bilingual, Spanish and English
- Assist attorneys in preparing and filing immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documents
- Conduct legal research using resources such as Westlaw, Lexis-Nexis, and other relevant platforms
- Draft and review legal documents, including affidavits, briefs, and correspondence
- Maintain case files and document management systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date information
- Organize and manage client documentation, including gathering necessary evidence and records
- Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other parties involved in the immigration process
- Assist in preparing clients for interviews or hearings
- Coordinate with external vendors or translators when necessary
- Provide administrative support to attorneys as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- Proven experience working as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant, preferably in immigration law
- Strong knowledge of legal case management systems and document management systems
- Proficiency in conducting legal research using platforms such as Westlaw or Lexis-Nexis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with immigration forms, procedures, and regulations is preferred
- Ability to transcribe legal documents accurately is a plus
