Our childcare service organization is looking to fill a full-time and part-time Lead Teacher position to implement curriculum; interact and nurture children in your care, supervising their activities to ensure a safe environment.
This position is 30-40 hours a week Monday - Friday
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in childcare or group setting.
- Must be 18-years-old or older
- High School diploma or GED
- Education and training in Early Childhood Development; EDU 119 completion or enrollment preferred (Required) Or EDU-119 Equivalency test which be done at this link https://www.dcdee.moodle.nc.gov/enrol/index.php?id=109
- Proficient in supervision of children
- Certified in CPR and First Aid preferred; course offered at applicant(s) expense
- NC Childcare Criminal Background required; job aid provided for DCDEE childcare background check
- Must have high energy and be self-motivated
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently
Job Segments
- Implement daily curriculum and student activities (create lesson plans independently)
- Implement and supervise special activities as scheduled
- Assist with center housekeeping/maintenance (i.e., bathroom, kitchen, cafeteria, activity area, playground, etc.) and ensure cleanliness each day in classroom, bathrooms, and playground areas used.
- Advise the Center Director of all child/parent/staff problems immediately and document as required
- Maintain open communication with children, center administration, and Child Care office
- Attend center and association staff meetings as directed by center management
- Attend training as directed by center management
- Certified and up to date in CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety
- Successfully complete 10+ continuing education hours annually
- Successfully complete Child Care Curriculum training as offered
- Perform other duties as assigned by Center Director
