Overview:
The Valve Technician will be responsible for refurbishing and recertifying equipment and products used in the oilfield such as Frac Trees, Iron, and Valves. This individual will be responsible for identifying, testing, resetting, and repairing basic spring-loaded industrial pressure relief (pop) valves. Responsibilities will also include calibrating instruments prior to each testing event and recording calibration details and instrument checks.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Identify, test, reset and repair basic spring-loaded industrial pressure relief (pop) valves.
- Assist in disassembly and inspection of devices.
- Assist in assembly, tagging and sealing of pressure relief devices.
- Introduction to ASME and NBIC Codes and Manuals, transitioning to full comprehension.
- Introduction to test gauge calibration methods, procedures, and testing components.
- Other training as required and directed by supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Must be willing to travel in eastern Colorado and surrounding areas.
- Must be able to read and write in English and possess good verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
· Previous oilfield or frac experience preferred.
Travel:
· Must be willing to travel in eastern Colorado and surrounding areas.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is:
- Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat. Suitable weather protection will be provided.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
- Regularly exposed to non-toxic propane fumes or airborne particles.
- Regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. This position is required to be performed at the work site during regularly scheduled hours. Physical presence at the work site is required.
Physical Requirements:
The employee must frequently position, transport, and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, move across large areas, including uneven terrain, sometimes quickly. Be stationary for long periods of time. Work in confined or restrictive working spaces. Use fingers and/or hands to handle and feel. Reach with hands and arms above the head and to ground level. Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or otherwise reach into confined spaces. Push and pull material and equipment from one place to another. Communicate with and exchange information verbally and in writing. Operate a motorized vehicle during the work shift. Work using repetitive motion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work requires physical efforts associated with using the computer and phones to access information.
Reports To:
The Valve Technician reports directly and is accountable to the Valve Maintenance Foreman.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
