Sojo Industries (“Sojo“) uses robotics, mobility, and software to deliver efficient packaging and assembly solutions to the food and beverage industry. Sojo operates proprietary, onsite manufacturing services throughout the United States to eliminate freight, labor and packaging costs and harmful emissions by delivering on-site packaging services. As a software and innovation company, Sojo has also developed its own proprietary blockchain-based, track-and-trace software platform, Sojo Shield, and continues to develop IoT and other technologies to capture data and enable customers to comply with federally mandated food safety requirements and better monitor and analyze their products throughout the supply chain.
The Regional Human Resources Manager will assist the Human Resources department in the employee life cycle administrative duties of all SOJO employees as well as the Chief Administrative Officer in legal, compliance, and administrative tasks as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Leads local recruiting and hiring functions as Sojo grows a new facility to upwards of thirty employees
- Manage all human resource duties for the assigned Sojo facility
- Apply and interpret Sojo policies and procedures as well as local regulation to Sojo’s workforce in the assigned facility
- Manages the Sojo Swag inventory in assigned facility
- Serve as local Sojo representative for temporary staffing agency in the assigned facility
- Perform investigations, employee coaching & counseling, performance development plans, discipline, and terminations, including acting as Spanish translator if possible
- Assist in the managing and processing of all regulatory matters (e.g., workers’ comp claims and garnishments) related to Sojo personnel in the assigned facility
- Manage corporate housing for Sojo Flight and other traveling personnel
- Manage monthly I-9 compliance matters for Sojo on a nation-wide basis
- Perform other duties as assigned
Mandatory Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years experience as a human resources professional in the distribution/logistics or CPG industries
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent post-secondary degree preferred, or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of local employment laws, compliance, and best practices required
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills
- Experience with assessing talent
- Demonstrated self-starter, able to perform with without substantial supervision or management
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Bilingual – Spanish and English
- Proficiency in Paycom
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and HRIS
Travel: less than 10% to other Sojo facilities
