An opportunity has arisen for a Senior CPA to join a new and growing dynamic CPA and Accounting firm in Long Beach.
Having uniquely integrated accounting, tax and book-keeping services and an international presence, we are able to provide our clients with comprehensive services extending to tax returns, bespoke tax advice, expert business advisory and book-keeping services.
We are currently looking for a CPA Senior Qualified Accountant to join our accounting and tax department, to provide personalised services to our clients.
Responsibilities and Duties
The role is ideally suited to a senior accountant with a strong background in property tax and accounting.
This is a broad and varied role that requires excellent organisational skills, the ability to produce high quality work and meet deadlines. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and ambitious and will have an opportunity to progress within the firm.
Core responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the president to ensure performance of tax planning, client interaction and special projects
- Collaborate with staff on income tax preparation and planning
- Work closely with out international sister company on expat tax work
- Represent clients with IRS, State or other audits
- Review completed tax forms and provide recommendations to junior members of our team when needed
- Assist with business forecasting, due diligence work and other related accounting and tax consulting work
- Assist with client bookkeeping and ongoing management reporting requirements
- Research and resolve tax and accounting issues affecting our firm
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through ongoing communication and exceptional service
Qualifications and Skills
This role will suit someone who is outgoing and able to manage a very busy workload, multi-task and work under pressure.
The role will suit someone who has a good understanding of clients needs, and excellent technical skills to be able to navigate and advise in the current environment
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- CPA certification and good tax knowledge to be able to complete varying levels of complexities in tax returns
- Thorough knowledge of accounting and financial procedures
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience working in practice for 7 years +
- Proactive in their approach to the role and the requirements of the firm
- Ability to communicate and interact with staff and clients on a professional level
- Ability to organise, manage and control their own workload and adhere to client and office deadlines and discretion
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Capable of working on numerous clients’ affairs, setting and working to budgets
- Report to managers and also directly to partners
- Able to take on ad-hoc projects including due diligence reporting etc
- Computer literate with excellent knowledge of Lacerte, MS Office, MS Excel in particular (we use the GSuite variant)
- Good experience and proficiency in using Quickbooks (and Xero) bookkeeping software, and ability to be able to navigate through various add-ons etc
