POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for supervision of all clinical activities, assist with supervision of instruction and curriculum development in the Associate Degree Program. This position serves in the absence of Dean.
The Associate Dean of Nursing reports to the Dean of Nursing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Dean of Nursing with the management of the Associate Degree Nursing
- Manage the nursing program in the absence of the
- Conduct classroom observations as
- Establish clinical rapport with affiliates to include procurement of contract agreement and
- Work with local and remote clinical agencies and affiliates to coordinate availability of clinical assignments for
- Review clinical schedules for clinical rotations at the various facilities as prepared by the Clinical Coordinator Admin
- Approve the assignment of faculty to various clinical sites with the of the Dean of Nursing
- Orient all new clinical faculty to their
- Provide supervisory visits to clinical sites.
- Obtain evaluations of students by clinical site managers and clinical instructors. Follow up with students as needed for remediation related to clinical assignments, such as care plans.
- Assure clinical objectives are being met at various clinical Attend meetings regarding scheduling at all clinical facilities.
- Monitor student attendance and retention and document as
- Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled hours or by
- Communicate with Lead Instructor or Dean of Nursing on all issues related to students as
- Help students develop as nurses and integrate values and behaviors of a professional nurse.
- Function as a change agent and leader to create a preferred future for nursing education and nursing

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- MSN required
- Experience teaching nursing for at least 2 years
- Minimum three years as a registered nurse
- Maintain current personal education, nursing license and certifications required to practice nursing in Alaska
- Interpersonal, and problem solving
COMPENSATION
- Full Time - Salaried – Exempt
- Annual Wage Range - MIN: $ 100,000.00 - $124, 000.00
- Compensation dependent on experience, knowledge and education level

OTHER
- Full time nursing faculty are expected to teach at least one class and clinical rotation. Contact hours directly with students should be around 20-25 hours per week.
- In addition to teaching platform duties full time faculty will be expected to engage in; tutoring, class preparation, curriculum development, faculty development, office hours, departmental meetings, and substitute for colleagues as assigned. There is no additional compensation for these
- Faculty are expected to complete one in-service education session each quarter to improve their teaching skills and to complete nursing professional development and evidence based nursing activities that support the profession and faculty nursing
