Dermatology & Laser of Del Mar is a small boutique-style clinic, looking for a cosmetic consultant/medical assistant with dermatology and cosmetic treatment experience.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
- Escort patient to and from exam room, help the patient prepare for exam/treatment by quickly getting pictures, consents, & confirming treatment plan for the day and pricing if necessary.
- Enter medical histories and prescriptions into EMR.
- Assist physician during exam/procedure/cosmetic treatments.
- Consulting with patients on cosmetic treatments, pricing, and products.
- Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Educate patients and respond to patients questions in-office/on the phone as needed.
- Document all medical instructions given to patients.
- Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies.
- Draw blood & prepare for PRP treatments as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education:
- High School Diploma required.
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
Qualifications:Qualifications:
- Medical assistant training is required.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a medical office is required.
- Prior dermatology office experience is preferred.
- Someone with strong cosmetic sales experience is required.
- Experience working with cosmetic products.
- Knowledgeable of medical dermatology terms/CPT, ICD-10.
- Quality written and verbal communication skills.
- Quality mathematics skills.
- Professional in appearance and mannerisms.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and co-workers alike.
- Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
- Experience working on electronic medical records.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Physical Requirements: Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals. Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.
