Summary
The Shipping Senior Associate will perform the entire range of shipping, order processing (verify count, adjust count, print/label, ship/route) and document control required to fill customer orders. Select appropriate carrier and using shipping software to process packages for shipment via LTL or small package carrier.
Responsibilities
- Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
- Maintains an organized shipping floor and dock ensuring shipments are placed in correct areas and counted with proper information and paperwork provided to routing specialist.
- Follow the different methods of shipping, depending on the weight and utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures and routes.
- Select the appropriate carrier and use shipping software to process packages for shipment via LTL or small package carrier.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Verifies quantities for each box and adjust if need be
- Printing of labels and packing lists
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Shrink wrap orders that will be going LTL/or truckload
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications
- 2-5 years of factory/warehouse related experience in shipping.
- Must be able to count and perform math functions accurately.
- Experience with MS Excel and UPS/FEDEX online software is a plus.
- Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers.
- Ability to perform but not limited to the following tasks, be familiar with and able to interpret packing slips, accurately enter information into the computer.
- Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.
- Must be familiar with the most common material handling equipment.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
