Senior Project Engineer – Global

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support our growing product portfolio in our Jupiter, FL location. The Senior Project Engineer will be working with a dedicated team of engineers strategically distributed around the globe based upon the product and customer requirements. We are seeking an individual with product development and product launch experience in the automotive aftermarket or similar industry to act as the voice of the Product Development Team as the product moves through its early lifecycle up to and including the pilot production run.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they meet industry standards, project specifications, quality, timelines, and budget.
· Capture the customer requirements from the Product Development team and accurately communicate those requirements at a local level both to the internal MPS team as well as our supplier team members.
· Support local development and current product improvement efforts with a focus on efficiency and innovation
· Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, executives and team members, to ensure clear understanding of project objectives and progress.
· Perform risk assessments to identify potential project obstacles and devise mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
· Target low production costs by codeveloping the product design with the manufacturing supplier’s process capabilities to ensure we are leveraging their volumes and strengths to produce a more robust and lower cost product.
· International travel 25% to our offices in Poland and China as well as supplier locations to ensure the product and manufacturing processes are developed in alignment.
Qualifications:
· Strong knowledge of Product Development
· Ensure a high “quality signature” by utilizing design tools such as DFMEA and PFMEA to remove any failure modes from both the design as well as the process.
· Software Tools: SolidWorks, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PLM/PDM
· Product Development Gate Process
· Ability to establish processes, standard work, and work instructions
· Capability to compile reports, run Design Reviews, and generate presentations to a specific target audience
· Utilize internal tools such as Sigma (PLM), Outlook, and Teams to track the project and capture design critical information.
· Ability to establish product quality and validation requirements
· Durability, environmental exposure (Salt Spray, Thermal Shock), performance
· Solid understanding of manufacturing processes
· Experience with Mechanical and Electronic Pumps (hydraulic, water, vacuum), Electric Actuators and Sensors, Molded Rubber Components (hoses, bushings), Molded Plastic Components (manifolds, housings, brackets), Cast Metal Products (housings, brackets), Stamped Metal Products (brackets, fittings, vessels) a plus.
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical engineering or related field. Masters in engineering a plus
· 5+ or more years of experience post-graduation. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
