Job Summary: In accordance with the organization’s mission, vision and values, the Medical Biller is responsible for general aspects of billing and payment collection.
Minimum Qualifications: Two years minimum of experience in accounts receivable field. Medical billing experience preferred. Valid NYS Drivers’ License.
Duties:
1. Process claims and handle clearing house rejections.
2. Resolve denial instances.
3. Post charges.
4. Post payments.
5. Monitor accounts receivable.
6. Work with insurance companies on disputed claims and processing issues.
7. Update tracking spreadsheets.
8. Interact virtually with clients on billing and payment matters.
9. Assist with incoming mail.
10. Conduct duties in a professional and timely fashion.
11. Prepare ad hoc analysis and reports as necessary.
12. Other duties as assigned.

1. Ability to work independently with a sense of personal ownership and ability to “get things done” as well as work as part of a team.
2. Creative problem-solving skills.
3. Effective communication skills
4. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong emphasis on Excel skills.
6. Strong aptitude for written and verbal customer service.
