The Life Enrichment Coordinator assists the Life Enrichment Manager (LEM) with various clerical, scheduling, and other functions involved with running a variety of activity programs for active independent living residents. This position is primarily days, with the flexibility to staff occasional weekend and evening events.
Employee will exemplify a PersonFirst ® approach to service and/or care which is founded in the principle that every Resident is a unique person, has a unique story to tell and should be encouraged to take part in guiding their own care. The employee will provide compassionate, honest and accountable care while respecting Resident needs, preferences and choices.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Assists LEM in researching and planning activities and trips, including informing residents of details.

Responsible for the programming and maintenance of Piper Shores’ in-house community TV channel, Apps program, and digital signage.

Assists transportation for independent living residents to medical appointments, shopping, social, educational, recreational, and religious services, and assists in driving.

Maintains statistics of in-house programming and special trips.

Records resident billing for in-house programming and special trips in preparation for submission to Accounting for billing.

Provides set-up and staffing of in-house and outside activities for Piper Shores’ residents.

Assists in the operation of technology systems including the Founders Room, common rooms at Oceanside and Meadows, and the Broadcast Studio.

Utilizes and trains new employees in all departments on the usage of Touchtown.

Assists with the operation of the Arts Center, including planning and executing a yearly schedule of exhibits, resident or outside guest programs, organization of the studios, and ordering supplies for exhibits and classes.
- Assists with booking resident meeting rooms and lounges.

Practices safe work habits to prevent injury to self and others.

Drives the Piper Shores’ vehicles when needed as back-up if regular drivers are unavailable.

Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED.

Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Solid knowledge of MS Office, along with ability/desire to learn desktop publishing software programs, i.e., Adobe InDesign, Adobe Express.

Ability to research details for in-house programming and special trips.

Solid knowledge or ability to learn a variety of audio/visual equipment for in-house programs.

Valid driver’s license in the State of Maine and good driving record.

Ability to work with a minimum of direction once job duties are mastered.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Creativity.

Strong desire and ability to work with the senior population. Ability to communicate in a courteous, friendly and helpful manner.
