Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and Park Nicollet Health Services policy.
Cardiology Clinic Nurse Clinicians work in support of Cardiology providers, including physicians and mid-level providers, in a case management style role in General Cardiology, primarily Structural Heart, Pulmonary Hypertension, Interventional Cardiology and Prevention. Nurse Clinician's work includes: telephone follow-up and triage assessment, evaluating therapies and treatment plans, patient education, inbasket management and resulting, and connecting patients with needed resources.
Expected to support all areas within the Heart Clinic including:
- Clinic
- CHF
- Prevention
- Structural Heart
- Pulmonary Hypertension
- Others as designated
This role will primarily support the Structural Heart team
Work Schedule:
M-F 8:30 - 5:00
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of RN experience in ambulatory or acute care cardiology, ICU or Emergency Center setting.
- Must maintain a current Minnesota registered nurse license.
- Basic life support/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.
- Strong clinical and human relations skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the Nurse Practice Act and Park Nicollet Health Services.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.
- Basic computer/keyboarding/mouse skills required. Prefer rhythm strip interpretations skills.
- May be asked to affiliate with and be a member of a professional association as deemed appropriate for specialization within the nurse clinician role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
