Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Low Voltage Cable Technician to join our team. As a Low Voltage Cable Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing low voltage cabling systems in commercial buildings. Your role will involve working closely with project managers, electricians, and other team members to ensure the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr to $25.00/hr based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling systems, including CAT5, CAT6, and fiber optic according to industry standards and project specifications.
- Troubleshoot and repair low voltage cabling systems, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
- Assist with the layout of low voltage cabling systems, ensuring compliance with building codes and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to plan and schedule work, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, labor hours, and project documentation.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a low voltage cable technician in a commercial setting.
- Strong knowledge of low voltage cabling systems, including CAT5, CAT6, and fiber optic cables.
- Experience with cable termination and testing equipment, including cable testers, certification testers, and fusion splicers.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Speaking, hearing and seeing to avoid safety hazards
- Strenuous manual labor
