Position: Hospice Registered Nurse (In-Home)
Location: Benton and Franklin County, Washington
Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Anticipated Schedule: Monday – Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm, and one back-up on-call shift per month.

Position Overview:
An In-Home Hospice Registered Nurse serving patients in Benton and Franklin County, WA, provides compassionate, high-quality care to individuals with terminal illnesses in their homes. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and evaluating personalized care plans, and administering necessary medications and treatments. The nurse also educates patients and their families about disease processes, symptom management, and end-of-life care, while offering emotional support and counseling.
Coordination and effective communication with the hospice team, which includes physicians, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers, are essential to ensure seamless and continuous care. The position requires a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State, strong clinical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently. The nurse must also travel to patients' homes across Benton and Franklin County and may have on-call duties to address patient needs outside regular hours. This role is critical in enhancing the quality of life for patients in their final stages and supporting their families through a challenging time.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Associate Degree in Nursing.
2. Unrestricted Registered Nurse Licensure in Washington State
3. Excellent verbal and written communication.
4. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
5. Moderate computer skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Available to work on-call a minimum of two-holiday shifts per year.
8. This position is designated as safety-sensitive and will require passing a pre-employment drug testing, which includes cannabis testing in WA State.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in nursing
2. Bilingual in Spanish.

Compensation
Starting Range: $35.50 - $55.00
Pay Range: $35.50 - $73.81
Premiums:
- $2.50/hour Weeknight
- $2.25/hour Weekday
- $4.75/hour Weekend Night
- $4.00/hour On Call Standby

Requirements:
AGENCY REQUIREMENTS
1. Demonstrate support and adherence to the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
2. Participate in community Education and Outreach to raise awareness of agency-provided programs including but not limited to hospice care, advanced care planning, and bereavement.
3. Responsible for knowledge and compliance with agency policies, procedures, and practices.
4. Responsible for maintaining and protecting Patient and agency information in a confidential manner. Practice appropriate HIPAA confidentiality by accessing patient-related information on a “need to know” basis only.
5. Reliable personal transportation, and current and valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
6. Satisfaction of state and agency requirements for Tuberculin screening.
7. Hepatitis B immunization series, proof of series, or signed declination.
8. Proof of applicable Vaccination(s) on file or approved accommodation/declination as appropriate on file.
9. Must pass a criminal background screening and pre-employment drug screening.
10. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (see attached physical requirements and environmental conditions).
11. Complete agency and departmental orientation and training program(s).
12. Complete all continued learning, education, policy reviews, and required training by their respective deadlines.
13. Maintain licensure(s) and certification(s) required for the position.
14. Available to work as assigned/scheduled.
