The Site Safety Officer is the L1 SSHO as key personnel, a full-time employee who through education, experience and training has the technical knowledge and skills needed to anticipate, recognize, and evaluate hazardous conditions and recommend corrective action/s and ensure corrections is/made in a timely manner, and in compliance with OSHA, NFPA Standards, USACE, State and Local laws.
The SSHO is responsible for:
- Implementing and evaluating VALIANT’s safety and health program the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) to assure all associates and subcontractors are to work on an environment that is free from any recognized hazards.
- Responsible for obtaining all documents of incident/injuries investigation and reporting to VALIANT’s corporate office in a timely manner.
- Provide the necessary safety topics training and orientation to all associates and subcontractors to comply with VALIANT’s safety policy and procedures to include but not limited to Hazard Communication, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), Control of Hazardous Energy (LOTO), Quality Health Safety Environmental (QHSE) policies just to name a few.
- Review and participate in a team effort with customer’s WBAMC safety programs of; Fire Protection, Infection Control (IC), Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM), Environment of Care (EOC), to be in compliance with, The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation standards/requirements.
