JOB SUMMARY
The Sales Representative sells medical equipment, medical supplies, and other healthcare products to businesses, government agencies, and other organizations. This position contacts customers, explains the features of the products they are selling, negotiate prices, and answer any questions that their customers may have about the products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Searching for new clients who could benefit from products in a designated territory for MEDPHARM and USA Contractors.
- Travelling to visit potential clients
- Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers
- Managing and interpreting customer requirements
- Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs
- Calculating client quotations
- Negotiating tender and contract terms
- Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions
- Offering after-sales assistance
- Checking competitors’ products and prices
- Administering client accounts
- Analyzing costs and sales
- Preparing weekly field work report for manager
- Preparing monthly itinerary report
- Meeting regular sales targets
- Recording and maintaining client contact data
- Coordinating sales projects
- Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts
- Assisting client for any product issue
- Presenting self accordingly during customer call by wearing proper sales attire
- All other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Two (2) or more years of work experience as a sales representative in a fast-paced, high volume work environment.
- High school diploma with some college level training (BS, BA or equivalent) is highly desired.
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology and legislation is preferred.
- Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.
- Must have the ability to creatively meet sales targets to achieve expected outcomes.
- Must be able to deliver exceptional customer service while working under extreme pressure.
- Must demonstrate the ability to remain personable and professional when dealing with difficult customers demonstrating advanced relationship management skills.
- Must be able to communicate professionally verbally and in writing.
- Must have a high level of negotiating and selling skills.
- Must have the ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to audience needs.
- Must be able to multi-task with the ability to meet harsh deadlines.
- Must have advanced skills working with Microsoft Office products and sales force software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time both locally and internationally.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, twist and lean up to 90% of the time.
- May be seated for long periods of time utilizing office equipment such as a calculator, cash register, and computer.
- May be required to count, pinch, pick, write and lift up to 30 lbs.
