Glenbrook High School District 225 is seeking Instructional Assistants Advanced Support: Personal Care.
The Personal Care Instructional Assistant works collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and adult service and community agencies to assist in all aspects of the daily instructional program for students with disabilities within the school and community setting. The person in this position will provide instructional support with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision, care, and instruction of students with disabilities in the general education setting and/or in special education settings while promoting peer relations and independence in the classroom under the direct and indirect supervision of the teacher and other related service staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- State Paraprofessional License (60 or more college credit hours or pass the Paraprofessional test to apply for a license) OR Substitute Teacher License.
- Successful completion of the District Lifting Evaluation.
- Experience working with high school students is preferred.
- Required to have a valid driver's license and use reliable personal transportation to meet students at community-based sites as needed.
- Willingness to obtain the qualifications to drive a van or activity bus.
